How We Rate Casinos

Five criteria underpin every verified CAD rating on this site. Each one answers a question that matters to a Canadian player who wants to know what they are actually getting — not what the lobby page claims they are getting.
- Return to Player and Game Fairness. RTP tells you what proportion of total wagers a game is configured to return to players over a statistically significant number of rounds. That figure matters because game studios release the same slot at multiple RTP levels — a player running the reduced build is, round by round, contributing more to the house margin than they would on the same title at its highest setting. The casinos we verify have confirmed they select the highest available build, typically in the 96% to 99.9% range, meaning the house takes a smaller cut per spin. A higher build does not change what happens in any individual session, but it does change the underlying maths working against you.
- Canadian Dollar Account Integrity. Playing in a currency that is not your own adds two conversion events to every session — one on the way in and one on the way out — and both are usually priced in favour of the operator. A genuine CAD account removes that mechanism entirely. We verify that deposits are received in Canadian dollars, that the account balance is held and displayed in CAD, and that withdrawals are issued in the same currency without a conversion applied at the point of payment. We do not report exchange rates or conversion fees for casinos that do not use native CAD accounts; we simply do not list them.
- Licence Verification Against the Public Register. A Kahnawake Gaming Commission licence is verifiable because the commission publishes its active licence list at gamingcommission.ca. That public register is why a licence is a meaningful signal rather than just a logo: anyone, including the player, can check whether the number in the casino's footer corresponds to an active entry in the register. We confirm this match before any other assessment begins. A casino whose licence number cannot be found in the register, or whose number shows a lapsed status, is not covered on this site.
- Withdrawal Speed and Reliability. Fast access to your winnings is part of what it means to be paid fairly. A casino that places a 48-hour manual review stage between a withdrawal request and approval — and another 48 hours before the funds move — is not operating the same standard as one that processes the same request in a fraction of that time, even if both publish the same headline window. We submit a real withdrawal using a funded test account, record the time from request to funds received, and compare that result to the window the casino publishes. Gaps between stated and actual timelines count against the score.
- Responsible Gaming Controls. Deposit limits, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion are protective tools that work only if they are usable in the moment a player needs them. A limit buried in a help article or requiring an email to support is a limit that takes effect hours or days after the player decided they needed it. We navigate directly to the account settings at each brand and confirm that deposit limits are adjustable from within the account menu without contacting anyone, that cooling-off requests activate immediately, and that the self-exclusion option is reachable in two clicks or fewer from the cashier.
Every score on this site is backed by a live account funded in Canadian dollars. The editor deposits, navigates the game library, plays a selection of slots and table games, and submits a withdrawal before any score is finalised. The time from withdrawal request to funds received is measured and compared to the casino's published window. Deposit limits are tested by attempting to set and activate one from inside the account settings. Any divergence from stated behaviour is recorded.
This site earns a referral commission when visitors register and deposit at a listed casino. Commission does not determine which casinos appear on the site or in what order. A brand must pass each of the five criteria above to be listed, and if it later fails a re-check, it is removed. Content is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
